Committee on Political Affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe supported the candidacy of Lesia Vasylenko, member of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the PACE, as rapporteur on the resolution "The role of the Council of Europe in preventing armed conflict and strengthening security in the European region"

According to the People's Deputy, work on the document involves, in particular, analysis of:
- historical experience of the Council of Europe in preventing armed conflicts: what it takes for resolutions to work;
-  Interconnection and coordination of international institutions – security and human rights – at different stages of armed conflict.

The resolution will contain recommendations to the member states of the Council of Europe and proposals for improving international mechanisms in the prevention of armed conflicts and their consequences.
