First of all, the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked the people of Malta for their support and humanitarian aid: "We hope that one day we will be able to personally thank many Maltese people by inviting them to Ukraine."

"Ukraine has been in the Association Agreement since 2016. And over the past six years, we have shown persistent and consistent implementation of cooperation plans. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation has already voted on more than a hundred implementations of European directives," said Oleksandr and assured that the EU could be confident that Ukraine will continue to meet all requirements. He added that Ukraine would continue all reforms: anti-corruption, economic, and market liberalization.

In addition, Oleksandr Kornienko stressed that the situation in eastern Ukraine is currently the most difficult: shelling continues, attempts by the Russian military to seize cities and towns, and the humanitarian crisis continues. "Ukraine is more grateful for the humanitarian assistance from Malta, in particular, for specialized assistance with medicines and shelters and assistance to temporary refugees from Ukraine," said the First Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.

"Many did not expect it, but Russia has proved to be very strong economically, and so much remains to be done so that it can not resume its military efforts. This is a joint work of the European community," said Oleksandr Korniyenko, and expressed hope that the Republic of Malta would continue to join this work: "And together we will be able to make sanctions policy more effective. "

In addition, the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament said that Ukraine has joined the European energy system and is now one of the exporters of electricity: "Ukrainian electricity is green, meets all European parameters. We hope that our companies at the government level will start cooperating."
