Volodymyr Lytvyn: People´s Deputies should consciously uphold all the Resolutions, if they are concerned with the Nation

At the briefing after the extraordinary plenary meeting, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that "the current situation testifies of the fact that different scenarios of development of events in Ukraine are being implemented". He believes that "the developers and initiators of such a scenario either act beyond The Verkhovna Rada or do not come to The Verkhovna Rada".

V.Lytvyn also informed the mass media representatives that the Party of Regions Faction blocked the lectern in response to the non-inclusion of the issue concerning enhancement of social standards to the agenda. He supposes that the political force demands that the said matter be scrutinized, the sources of revenue being not substantiated. V.Lytvyn believes that "the Party of Regions Faction can initiate the extraordinary session on the said matter by itself, as it requires the signatures of only 150 People´s Deputies". "If the People´s Deputies are concerned with the nation, they should come to the session hall and uphold the said matter consciously", - he stated.

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his concern with "the attempts to lead the country to the absurd". V.Lytvyn admits the possibility that one of the scenarios envisages holding of the extraordinary parliamentary elections.

The Head of the Parliament believes that all the political forces should hold the consultations and express their vision of the said processes, especially legislative substantiation of extraordinary parliamentary elections. On his part, he "is ready for the extraordinary parliamentary elections and is willing to express his motions and arguments".

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to devote due attention to the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Elections of the President of Ukraine and continue the consultations.

V.Lytvyn deems necessary to scrutinize all the personnel issues immediately. "On the one hand, they blame the Government for non-activity, on the other hand, the Minister of Finance is not appointed", -he stated.
