Mykola Tomenko: The Verkhovna Rada will endorse lifting of the Deputy´s Immunity from Viktor Lozynsky
Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, supposes that the Parliament should endorse lifting of the deputy´s immunity from Viktor Lozynsky, Deputy of the BYuT Faction.
Mykola Tomenko made the above-mentioned statement in the interview to the UNIAN news agency, commenting upon the institution of criminal proceedings against Viktor Lozynsky.
M.Tomenko reminded of his own stand, the position of the BYuT and the Prime-Minister of Ukraine that presupposes that everything appertaining to the said conflict belongs to the competence of the General Prosecution. Moreover, the BYuT Faction and the Prime-Minister addressed the General Prosecution with a request to respond to the said incident immediately.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that the majority of the People´s Deputies will endorse lifting of the deputy´s immunity from Viktor Lozynsky, provided the General Prosecution addresses The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in compliance with Clause 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine and Clause 35 of the Standing Orders of The Verkhovna Rada. "Every citizen, including a People´s Deputy, shall bear equal responsibility before the Law", - he stated.
