The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, held a Joint Press Conference with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola in Strasbourg
Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to the European Parliament for continuous support to Ukraine in the struggle for its freedom and European values.
The European Commission is yet to present its opinion on Ukraine's application and later on June 24 the European Council will decide the future of the relations.
“I believe that this decision will be in Ukraine's favor. This should be a legally clear wording - Ukraine is a candidate for EU membership,” stressed Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The European Parliament is the voice of the people of the European Union and we are glad that today it is in unison with the voice of the Ukrainian people.
