During the working meeting at the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Protection and Migration of Spain, Deputy Chairwoman Olena Kondratiuk asked the Minister to pay special attention to the most vulnerable categories of internally displaced persons. These are the elderly, women with children, people with disabilities and children with special needs.
Sides also discussed the changes that need to be made to the Spanish regulatory framework to be more inclusive and to address pressing issues for Ukrainian migrants.
“Ukraine will do everything possible to create conditions for our people to return home as soon as possible. But given the protracted phase of russia's aggression, many of our IDPs will have to stay longer under temporary EU protection. EU countries must be prepared for this, both administratively and legally,” noted Olena Kondratiuk
We are grateful to the Government of Spain for caring for Ukrainians and for all the efforts that are being made to make our citizens feel protected and not left alone with their problems.
