Abolishing the parliamentary immunity, starting a real fight against Russian collaborators, launching the "Great Construction" of the country, introducing digitalization, etc.
It was during the cadence of Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine that the decisions the country had been waiting for for years have finally been approved.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk in his comment on the third anniversary of the inauguration of Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the sixth President of Ukraine.
"At the initiative of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and with his direct participation, for the first time in the history of Ukraine, events took place and decisions were made that society needed, but that have been being postponed for years and decades," he said.
Among the important decisions, Ruslan Stefanchuk named the following:
- parliamentary immunity was abolished and button-pushing in the parliament was overcome;
- for the first time in the country's history, a law was passed to combat the oligarchy, which defines the concept of "oligarch" and imposes restrictions on contacts with oligarchs for politicians and government officials;
- for the first time since the beginning of the Russian aggression in Donbass, Russian collaborators and the Russian propaganda machine in Ukraine were hit - Medvedchuk's channels were cut off, the property of Medvedchuk and his wife was confiscated, and Medvedchuk himself is under investigation;
- the National Security and Defense Council has become a body that really cares about the country's security, including sanctions against individuals and companies that threaten security.
The Speaker of Parliament also stressed the importance of implementing the first-ever modernization program for transport connections. Thus, within the framework of the "Great Construction", 13 thousand kilometers of roads, 500 objects of social infrastructure, 560 bridges were built and repaired.
Important changes have taken place in the defense as well. In particular, its expenditures actually exceeded 5% of GDP, and Ukroboronprom (Ukrainian Defense Industry) was reformed.
"I also can't help but mention that the Parliament supported the opening of the land market, and systematic reform of land relations has begun. Civilized markets for gambling, amber, and alcohol have been introduced. A transparent procedure for holding national referendums has been introduced. Loans for small and medium-sized businesses at a rate below 10% have been introduced,” the politician added.
Finally, Ruslan Stefanchuk reminded that under Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a revolution in the digitalization of public services had begun, which brought Ukraine to the first place in the world in terms of the level of state electronic services.
