The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the Resolution "On Present-Day Situation in the Coal-Mining Industry and Thermal Power Engineering and Ways to overcome the Recessionary Phenomena in the Power Engineering Field"

In order to stabilize socio-economic situation in the coal-mining sector, secure stable work of the power engineering enterprises and energy security of Ukraine, the Parliament recommends that the Cabinet of Ministers drafts and brings forward the Bills on Amendments to the Laws "On Urgent Actions to be taken to prevent Negative Consequences of the Financial Crisis, and on Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine", and "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2009" within one month.
