“Ukraine appreciates the support of Lithuania in difficult times,” Oleksandr Korniyenko

Ukraine appreciates the support of the Republic of Lithuania in difficult periods and geopolitical moments. This was emphasized by First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko during the meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Paulus Saudargas.

“Lithuania's support is extremely valuable because it is not static, but dynamic: our partners keep their hands on the pulse and constantly help us in difficult times, in particular yesterday was one of such geopolitical moments for Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Korniyenko.

According to him, the Lithuanian side shows the same support within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Inter-Parliamentary Council (UNIC).

At the same time, he noted that Ukraine is counting on Lithuania's support during the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the NATO Summit to be held in the spring and summer of this year.

In addition, he added that today the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is implementing the reform of parliamentarism, in relation to which the experience and expertise of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania will be relevant and important.
