Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk congratulated Roberta Metsola on her election as President of the European Parliament.
"I sincerely congratulate Vice Speaker Roberta Metsola on her election as President of the European Parliament! I wish you inspiration, endurance and success. I believe that women in such positions can best show all their professionalism, wisdom and leadership qualities," said Olena Kondratiuk.
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada also expressed hope for deepening cooperation between the Parliament of Ukraine and the European Parliament. In particular, in the issues of parliamentary reform, openness and guarantee of the rights of the opposition, gender equality and women's political leadership, exchange of experience on legislative provision of equal rights and opportunities for women and men in various fields.
