V.Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Only the Accounting Chamber can present a Full and Impartial Picture of the Situation in the Country
On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Sergey Stepashin, Head of the Russian Federation Accounting Chamber, on the eve of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) in Kyiv.
During the meeting, the Parties exchanged the information concerning economic, political situation in Ukraine and Russia under the conditions of the recession, and cooperation between the auditing bodies of both countries.
The Head of the Russian Federation Accounting Chamber considers the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine "to be one of the strongest and most powerful bodies in Europe that serves as an example".
The participants of the meeting discussed the prospects of boosting the cooperation between the Accounting Chambers of Ukraine and Russia within the scope of joint audits of non-political nature of economic entities.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada deems necessary to devote attention to the development of science. "It is necessary to count on science, technologies, innovations, - stressed V.Lytvyn. It is important to rely on the basic values that unite people and do not divide the country". "The level of cooperation between our academies of sciences should serve as an example of cooperation of our countries in other fields", - he stressed.
The Head of the Parliament also calls for the formation of a national salvation government; he deems necessary to listen to the opinion of the President of Ukraine, the Prime-Minister of Ukraine, the Head of the National Bank, the Head of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine concerning overcoming of the recession.
