Today Ukraine celebrates a significant holiday in its modern history - the Anniversary of Independence. Exactly 30 years ago, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Act of Independence of our state. This decision became the starting point in the construction of modern Ukraine.
Over the years, our country has experienced many different events. We have witnessed bright victories and, unfortunately, bitter defeats. Today we are forced to defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity both in the occupation of Crimea and in the ongoing war in the East of our state. And no matter how difficult it may be for us sometimes, it is worth remembering that despite any challenges, Ukrainians have always, at all times of their own history, found the strength to move forward confidently and fight victoriously for the right to a better future.
We have a lot in common. Ukraine is a single state. Ukrainians from the West and the East, from the South and the North have always wanted and want to live in a free and prosperous country.
On this bright day, I would like to wish every citizen of Ukraine inspiration and a peaceful sky above his head. May this holiday once again remind each of us of the majestic and beautiful country we live in.
Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
