Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov discussed cooperation between the two countries with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili. The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed that Ukraine and Georgia cooperate effectively on many international platforms. "I am convinced that such cooperation should remain and deepen in the future," he added. Dmytro Razumkov noted that Kyiv and Tbilisi can expand joint influence at the level of the PACE, NATO PA, GUAM PA, UN and other platforms for achieving peace on their territories. He noted that Ukraine appreciates Georgia's support within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that Ukraine and Georgia have a common goal - NATO membership, and expressed hope that the countries will be able to achieve it at the same time.
According to Dmytro Razumkov, Ukraine has always sought peace and was willing to compromise. "But compromises with conscience and compromises on issues of territorial integrity are impossible. That is why today we are defending our independence with weapons in our hands in the East of our country," he said. At the same time, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed that Ukraine defends its territorial integrity not only withweaponsin hands, but also through diplomacy.The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the 'Crimea Platform' will become a platform where it will be possible to work with partners at the presidential, parliamentary and governmental levels to take steps to deoccupy Crimea. In turn, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili stressed that Ukraine is not only the friendly country for Georgia, but also the strategic partner. At the same time, he noted that both countries have similar goals, as well as similar challenges, one of which is the joint aggressor, the Russian Federation.According to him, the creation of the 'Crimea Platform' is a strong initiative to draw attention to the problem of occupation of the peninsula.
