Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov is in favor of finalizing and re-submitting to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine the draft law that would deprive the powers of MP for systematic neglect of duties and absenteeism of plenary sessions.
He noted that the deprivation of the mandate of a MP for non-performance of duties should be provided for in the Constitution. "I don't think it's worth spending taxpayers' money if you can't find time to do your job as a MP," he said.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada reminded that the Constitutional Court also issued a negative opinion on the draft law, which provided for amendments to the Basic Law and allow depriving the mandate for impersonal voting in the Parliament.
At the same time, he noted that the problem of impersonal voting was solved by introducing criminal liability for such actions and a sensor-button for the voting of parliamentarians.
