Mykola Tomenko: European Policy of Ukraine would remain Constant
Today Mykola Tomenko, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part in the international Parliamentary Conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the firs democratic elections conduction in postwar Poland that is held in Warsaw.
In the name of the Verkhovna Rada if Ukraine, M. Tomenko expressed thankfulness to the Poland Parliament for the invitation to the conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the firs democratic elections conduction in postwar Poland and has greeted the Poland colleagues and greeted all the participants from the Eastern European countries with this great date, wishing peace and flourishing.
During his speech, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that "20 years ago the new page in the Polish history was opened, - page that totally altered the society and the development of the country", - he stressed.
The Vice-Chairman stressed that Ukraine and Poland are united by many centuries of common history, mental and cultural propinquity, and alike vision of the future.
M. Tomenko emphasized that on practice Ukraine and Poland actively cooperate in the course of the preparation of the Treaty on Association between Ukraine and EU, the free trade zone implementation, realization of the concrete plans.
"In this course the extremely positive is the fact of adoption during the summit in Prague the common Polish-Swedish initiative "Eastern Partnership". And now the friendly relations of two countries do through the check of preparation for the "EURO-2012" conduction. And I am sure it would be successful", - M. Tomenko declared.
"Having taken the European choice as a basis we are aimed at the maximum use of this experience of developed democracy and at the same time provide the national identity. It is worth mentioning that in Ukraine the Presidents, coalitions in the Parliament but not our European policy would remain unchanged", - M. Tomenko stressed.
