The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, "Ukraine and Brazil should intensify the Inter-Parliamentary dialogue"

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov called for the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil. He stressed this during the meeting with member of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Brazil Eduardo Bolsonaro.
"We need to make relations between our parliaments closer. I understand that today the Coronavirus is a serious warning. But I hope that soon we will return to the usual formats of interaction," said Dmytro Razumkov.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada thanked Brazil for its support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. "The help we see from the Brazilian National Congress is important to us. I hope that this support will remain in the future," Dmytro Razumkov said.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed trade and economic relations. The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament noted the positive dynamics in this area. "Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, last year we saw an increase in bilateral trade," he said.
According to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the defense and security direction is also important area for the development of partnership between Ukraine and Brazil. "The experience we have gained during the last years of the war actually helps us to develop the latest technologies, create and modernize weapons in our country," said Dmytro Razumkov. He expressed hope that in the future mutually beneficial contracts will appear between Ukraine and Brazil in this area.
During the meeting, the Speaker also noted that this year marks the 130th anniversary of the beginning of Ukrainian immigration to Brazil. Dmytro Razumkov thanked for the support of the Ukrainian community at the state level and the creation of conditions for the free development of our culture, language and traditions.
