Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, objects against the holding of the referendum concerning introduction of amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
"I do not recommend to launch the procedure of a referendum in such a complicated situation", - stated V.Lytvyn in the interview to the journalists on Thursday, commenting upon the statement of the President of Ukraine concerning possible initiation of the referendum after the draft Fundamental Law is brought forward by the Party of Regions and the BYuT.
According to Volodymyr Lytvyn, "the issue concerning referendum on the accession to the NATO will be immediately raised". V.Lytvyn also admitted the possibility of holding local referendum "in view of the national one".
"If one is willing to tear up the country, one should initiate the referendum", - summarized the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
