On the
Ukrainian part in the meeting took part Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Global
Safety and International Cooperation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Evgen
Dobriak and the First Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities
and International Relations, Chairman of the Ukrainian-Czech interparliamentary
group of friendship, Viktor Taran. The Czech delegation
was leaded by the Chairman of the Foreign Committee of the Parliament of Czech Republic, Yan Gamachek.
During the discussion the perspectives of the Ukrainian membership in EU, problems concerning the Plan of Actions concerning membership in NATO and the possibility of Ukraine entering this organization, participation of our country in the system of European security were discussed etc.
E. Dobriak greeting the Czech colleagues stressed on the fact that Ukraine and Czech Republic have traditional good relations that arte supported in particular on the level of Presidents and Parliaments.
Chairman of the Foreign Committee at the Czech Parliament stressed the symbolicalness of the toady´s visit of the Czech delegation to Ukraine. In particular, Yan Gamachek declared that it was the last visit to Ukraine of the Foreign Committee in the current elections period. Moreover, Czech Republic completes the chairmanship in EU Council and resumes achievements. Still the Czech Parliamentarian deems the realization of the project "Eastern Partnership" of prior importance.
Yan Gamachek
emphasized that "Eastern Partnership" is not aimed at the substitution of the membership
in European Union. "We evaluated the advantages of the entering of European
space and would always support countries that are aimed at it", - he stressed.
The issues of the organization and conduction of Euro-2012 as the serious infrastructural project were also discussed.
In the end of the meeting, Yan Gamachek invited the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, O. Bilorus and delegation of Ukrainian Parliamentarians to visit Czech Republic.
