The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reacted quickly to the events concerning the completion of the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas transportation project. This was stated by Speaker of the Parliament Dmytro Razumkov.
Thus, he commented on the Resolution with the appeal to the US Congress on the sanctions pressure on the participants in the construction of the gas pipeline, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. "Without postponing this issue, the Parliament voted in favor of the appeal because the issue of national economic security is acute in the country," Dmytro Razumkov said.
He also stressed that this is not the first time that the Parliament has responded quickly to the challenges facing the state. "The Verkhovna Rada reacted immediately to the situation related to the Coronavirus pandemic and the war. The Parliament has always taken a position in the interests of our country," said Dmytro Razumkov.
According to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, the issue of the Nord Stream-2 should be on the agenda of the all branches of government. "We have to make sure that the Nord Stream-2 will not be completed. This is the priority for Ukrainian politicians," Dmytro Razumkov summed up.
