The Verkhovna Rada, convening extraordinary sittings, must hear the public request. This was stated by Speaker Dmytro Razumkov during the meeting of the Conciliation Council of Parliamentary Factions and Groups.

"We can already talk about holding two extraordinary meetings. I would like to appeal to everyone that the order of issues included in the extraordinary sittings corresponds to the challenges and problems that not only we in the Verkhovna Rada feel, but first of all, people feel," Dmytro Razumkov said.

The Speaker added that this plenary week will continue consideration of the draft law No. 2194 "On Amendments to the Land Code of Ukraine and other legislative acts to improve the system of management and deregulation in the field of land relations."

Dmytro Razumkov said that if there are 150 signatures of the MPs, the Verkhovna Rada should convene an extraordinary meeting with a specific agenda.

"I understand that most of the proposals come from the Chairpersons of the Committees, but let's set priorities. It is important that citizens who observe the extraordinary sittings understand that the Verkhovna Rada deals with really important aspects of public life," he said.

According to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, as of now there are two letters with the required number of signatures for holding two extraordinary sittings.

In addition, Dmytro Razumkov noted that other extraordinary meetings are possible during the week, but so far the parliamentary factions have not applied for signature sheets.
