ON FRIDAY THE 22nd OF MAY THE PLENARY MEETINGS OF THE FOURTH SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WERE HELD
The Chairman has informed on the results of the work of the Verkhovna Rada on the plenary meeting on the 22nd of May.
V. Lytvyn announced the cessation of the authority of the Temporary Inquiry Panels for the investigation of the corruption among the highest officials that obstruct the returning to the Armed Forces of Ukraine of 16 helicopters MI-8MT (MTB), leased to the closed joint-stock company "Ukrainian Helicopters". The term of the work of the panel was two months still the report of the Panel is not directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The break was announced on the initiative of BYT and Our Ukraine People´s Self-Protection concerning the consulting on the Report of Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on monitoring of the state of liquidation of the consequences of the natural calamity of 23-27 July 2008 in Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi Regions.
After the break the Report of Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on monitoring of the state of liquidation of the consequences of the natural calamity of 23-27 July 2008 in Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi Regions was introduced by the Chairmanof the Panel, O. Peklushenko.
The co-reporter on the issue was the members of the Temporary Inquiry Panel, Dmytro Shlemko. He also announced that the majority of people expressed the sincere thankfulness to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Government, local self-governing bodies and to all the people who help in the liquidation of the disaster.
In the discussion of the report of the Temporary Inquiry Panel the Representatives of all the Deputies Factions took part. The report received vague evaluation.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted as a Basis the Resolution "On the Report of Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on monitoring of the state of liquidation of the consequences of the natural calamity of 23-27 July 2008 in Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi Regions" (403 votes).
The statement of the Party of Regions concerning the disastrous situation in the coal mining field was announced by the People´s Deputy, Viktor Tumanov.
The Parliamentarians scrutinized the rejected amendments to the Bill on Physical Culture and Sport and extra table of amendments prepared by the profile Committee.
As a result of voting, the bill was directed for the further elaboration and repeated scrutiny in the second reading.
Next plenary meeting would be held on the 2nd of June.
