Borys Tarasiuk, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, opened a Round Table Discussion of the European Prospects of Ukraine at the Folketing (the Parliament of Denmark)

Discussion of the European prospects of our State aroused interest on the part of scientists and researchers, politicians and political scientists, journalists and businessmen, representatives of governmental institutions and non-governmental organizations, diplomatic corps accredited in Copenhagen. Representatives of the Czech, Romanian and Polish embassies and influential non-governmental organizations of Denmark (Danish European Movement, Support Initiative for Liberty and Democracy, Danish Atlantic Treaty Association, Danish-Ukrainian Society) also attended the discussion.

 

Representatives of different political forces of Denmark that nominated their candidacies to the European Parliament participated in the discussion. Thus, H.Severinsen, famous Danish politician, former co-reporter of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, represents the ruling Liberal Party of Denmark at the meeting.

 

Opening the meeting, Borys Tarasiuk stated that "owing to geography and history, our fortune is to strive to the family of European nations". He also stressed that "holding of the discussion in the country that serves as an example of democracy and the member of the EU and the NATO testifies of the interest to the prospects of Ukraine, its place and influence on the European continent".
