European and Euro-Atlantic integration remain priorities of Ukraine's foreign and security policy. This was stated by Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Anze Logar.
The Speaker of the Parliament thanked Slovenia for Ukraine's support on many issues, including its position on the deoccupation of Crimea and Donbas, as well as sanctions against Russia.
"We appreciate this support and its continuity. Ukraine is in search of ways of deoccupation and it is important for us to have a consensus on this issue both with the states of Europe and the whole democratic world," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said. He thanked Slovenia for its help in rehabilitating children whose parents were killed or injured during the fighting in eastern Ukraine.
Dmytro Razumkov expressed hope that the work of inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the two countries will intensify its activity in the near future. "If we talk about inter-parliamentary cooperation, it is essential for us to build quality relations with European parliaments. In connection with COVID-19, many international meetings have gone online, but I hope that in the near future we will be able to return to usual for us forms of work," he noted.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also noted that it is important for Ukraine to have support at various international platforms. "We expect support at the level of the PACE and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly," Dmytro Razumkov said.
