The Committee on Science and Education recommends that the Parliament scrutinizes a numbed of Bills concerning the Improvement of the Effective Laws in the Sphere of copyright law and Allied Rights

In particular, the committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopts the as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to the article 5 of the Law "On Spread of the Copies of Audio Recordings, Phonograms, Videograms, Computer Programs, Data Basis" (Reg.№3574). The Chairman of the committee, V. Polokhalo declared that the Bill envisages "formation of the obstacles for the pirate activity".

According to the facts the Committee recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill of the law on recognition of such that has lost the validity the Law "On Spread of the Copies of Audio Recordings, Phonograms, Videograms, Computer Programs, Data Basis" (Reg.№4296).

The committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopts the as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to certain laws of Ukraine concerning copyright law and allied rights (Reg.№4073) and on copyright law and allied rights (Reg.№4451). The aim if the named Bills is the coordinated of them with the Directives of EU in this sphere.

Moreover the Committee recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill of the Law on Amendments to the article 10 of the "Law On copyright law and Allied Rights" (concerning the works that are not objects of the copyright law), (Reg.№34111). The Bill envisages the preserving of the copyright for the projects of documents of the public character.

The Committee has also scrutinized the Bill of the Law on Amendments to certain laws of Ukraine for the strengthening of the protection of the copyright aw and allied rights (Reg.№3503). The Bill would be scrutinized during the one of the next meetings of the Committee.
