The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is ready to cooperate with the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) to ensure clear rules for e-declaration and transparency in the fight against corruption. This was stated by Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during the meeting on declaration in 2021 with the participation of the NAPC leadership.
“I am sure that the MPs, the leadership of the parliamentary factions and groups, and the leadership of the Committees are ready to cooperate. I would like us to follow the same direction, understanding the responsibility that lies on us to ensure the transparency of the fight against corruption,” he said.
According to the Speaker of the Parliament, the changes in the rules of declaration every year creates difficulties for civil servants, especially those categories who do not have the opportunity to receive expert advice on this issue. “It causes problems for them and for you when you check the declarations,” he said.
“Fighting corruption should not create problems. We must find a compromise on this issue. We in the Verkhovna Rada are ready to make appropriate decisions,” Dmytro Razumkov added.
In addition, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reminded that due to the common position of the parliamentary factions and groups it was possible to preserve e-declaration and restore the powers of the NAPC after the decision of the Constitutional Court, which destabilized the work of anti-corruption bodies.
