To resolve the tariff crisis, joint planned work of the executive and legislative branches of government is needed. This was stated by Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during the sitting of the Conciliation Council of Deputy Factions and Groups.
“Let's make everyone understand the plan and the system we will follow, how we will work, what is required of the Parliament,” he said.
Dmytro Razumkov noted that the Parliament once again demonstrated its readiness to work effectively on resolving the tariff crisis - it quickly considered and adopted the draft Law that allowed the Government to pay compensation to consumers for electricity heating costs.
“But it needs to be a joint balanced and long-term planned work, not extinguishing fires. Neither we nor the society need it,” said the Speaker of the Parliament and suggested considering the mechanisms for paying subsidies in advance.
He stressed that society should not experience ‘shock therapy’ given the large number of challenges the state has faced over the past year.
In addition, Dmytro Razumkov reminded of the considerable number of problems related to COVID-19, which exist both inside the country and abroad.
“Vaccination remains one of the key issues today. I hope that during the hour of questions to the Government, and during the sitting of the Government on Wednesday, we will hear a concrete action plan - what will happen,” the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said.
