Committee on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption recommends that the Information of the Prosecutor General on Implementation of the Order of the Temporary Inquiry Panel of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Investigation of the State Deliveries of Military Equipment to Georgia should be heard during the Plenary Meeting

 During the Meeting the appeal of the People´s Deputy, V. Konovaliuk concerning the delaying by the Prosecution General (more than 4 months) in the completion of the Temporary Inquiry Panel of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine order concerning the investigation the facts of violation of the Laws of Ukraine and norms of International Law as a result of the TIP investigation.

 

According to V. S. Konovaliuk, the report of the Temporary Inquiry Panel was directed to the Prosecution General Office on the 30.12.2008.

According to the report it was investigated that "there were numerous violations during the supplementation of the military equipment at the expense of the safety of Ukraine". During last four years export of weapon in Ukraine was at least 2,5 mlrd. USD and the State Budget received only 200 mln. USD.

No answer from the Prosecution General was received.

As a result of scrutiny, the Committee recommended the Verkhovna Rada hear the report of the Prosecutor General on the issue.
