V.Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, supposes that Reformatting of the Constitution and Attempts to amend Effective Constitution may take place till July
On Tuesday, 21 April, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Urban Rusnak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Ukraine who was concluding his mission in Ukraine due to the expiration of his authorities.
V.Lytvyn expressed his satisfaction with the development of relations between Ukraine and Slovakia. He deems necessary to extend bilateral cooperation at the level of committees and groups of friendship.
Commenting upon the social and political situation in Ukraine, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that "immediately after the May holidays, a complicated and dramatic process of rearrangement and maneuvering of political forces will start". He is concerned with the fact that a complicated political situation may bear a negative influence both on the economy and the psychological condition of people.
He deems necessary to learn a lesson from the economic crisis as well as from the political crisis of 2004, and in such case "much depends on the parliament whether it will be leading, or will be led".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supposes that reformatting of the Constitution and attempts to amend effective Constitution may take place till July. He is of the opinion that amendments to the Constitution will appertain only to the way the President should be elected.
Urban Rusnak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Ukraine, expressed his hopes that "the largest neighbouring country of Slovakia will adhere to the rules understood in Europe, will stay predictable and avail of the experience of Slovakia concerning establishment of the supremacy of Law".
