The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has already taken the first steps to prevent impersonal voting. This was stated by the Speaker of Parliament Dmytro Razumkov during a briefing dedicated to the end of the 4th session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th convocation.
“First, we have already turned off the extra seats of MPs, which were ‘nobody's’ and were under the balcony. Secondly, we are working to secure the voting card for a specific place. Unfortunately, we can't determine where the card voted, it's technically impossible. In addition, 4 more cameras will be placed in the session hall of the Parliament, they will help to record the phenomena of possible button-pressing,” the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted.
Dmytro Razumkov noted that the Parliament is currently looking for the cheapest and most effective way to avoid possible cases of button-pressing. “We will need to move to the new ‘Rada’ system. We are looking for the cheapest option,” he said. The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine assured that he would do everything in his power to make button-pressing impossible in the Parliament.
