First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk spoke about the priority bills of this plenary week during the Conciliation Council of deputy factions (deputy groups). According to him, in the near future the Parliament of Ukraine has the opportunity to consider the Plan of Legislative Work for 2021, which was prepared for the first time this year through coordinated cooperation of three subjects of the legislative initiative - the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider this week the draft law “On democracy through All-Ukrainian referendum.”
“I hope that the MPs are aware of the importance of this draft law, as a result of which the people will receive a mechanism of direct influence on the government. A number of other bills are planned. Some of them have already been worked out, in particular, the bill on the local referendum,” added Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The politician also called on the MPs of Ukraine to support the bill “On the Bureau of Economic Security.” «As a result of its adoption, we will not only fulfill the promise of the President of Ukraine to deprive the Security Service of Ukraine of its uncharacteristic function of investigating economic crimes, but also provide a new approach to the formation of state legal policy in this area,” he noted.
The First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine announced that in the next two weeks it is planned to hold meetings of all parliamentary working groups and continue work on important bills: on the parliamentary opposition, state symbols of Ukraine, recoding of the civil legislation of Ukraine, as well as on a number of bills on democracy.
