Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov hopes that a compromise will be reached in the Parliament on the degree of responsibility for declaring inaccurate information and notes that the relevant bill must be approved by the end of the year.
“On the basis of two bills, I hope we will be able to reach a compromise that will allow the application of a special ‘ad hoc’ procedure, to unite the positive things that are in the bill of the President and the bill of the Parliament and reach a norm that would provide punishment in the form of imprisonment for false declaration,” he said.
Dmytro Razumkov stressed that his position on the responsibility for declaring inaccurate information was clearly reflected in his bill No. 4304. The bill provided for the restoration of Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in the wording, which provided for fines, community service or imprisonment for submitting knowingly inaccurate information in the declaration.
