“The draft law on the local referendum should be included in the ‘Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021’” Ruslan Stefanchuk

Under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, a meeting of the Working Group on the preparation of a draft laws on democracy was held. MPs, specialists and experts joined the discussions.


The participants of the meeting determined the priority of these bills and chose the ones that should be included in the ‘Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021’

“Most members of the working group agreed that the bill on the local referendum should be included in the so-called ‘top 250 bills’ that form the basis of the Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021. We must ensure that the people have control over the local elected authorities,” noted Ruslan Stefanchuk.
