Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov met with Deputy Chairperson of the Parliamentary Faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany Gabriela Heinrich.

During the meeting, Dmytro Razumkov noted that Ukraine is interested in Germany`s multi-party support to continue implementing reforms and the European integration course. “Reforming the judiciary and combating corruption are key tasks for the Ukrainian government,” he said.

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked Gabriela Heinrich and the parliamentary faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and noted that membership in the EU and NATO is a strategic goal of Ukraine's foreign policy.

According to Dmytro Razumkov, Germany is Ukraine's largest trading partner among the EU countries, and the total trade turnover is almost $ 9.4 billion. “The development of economic relations with Germany should be one of our key priorities. Inter-parliamentary cooperation should be aimed at ensuring this development,” the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.

The Speaker also noted that Ukraine's investment potential is much greater than the figures currently in the economic reports – both in terms of investment opportunities and in terms of geographical proximity and logistical convenience.
