"The re is no indifferent person to the pain grown by the Chornobyl Problem", - the First Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine announced summing up the parliamentary hearings "Current State and Topical Issues of overcoming the Chornobyl Disaster Aftermath".
"The year pass, the liquidators of the catastrophe fade away and the problems brought by it remains. Today we also felt that the officials of all the levels abuse on the people´s grief", - O. Lavrynovych declared.
The First Vice-Chairman stated that the hearings were held "to analyze the complex of events taken to reduce the volume of radionuclides carried out of the alienation zone, strengthen and support the barriers of nuclear safety, withdraw Chornobyl nuclear power-station from exploitation, transform the "Ukryttia" object into an environmentally safe system, ensure further social, medical and psychological rehabilitation of the victims, conclude economic restoration and secure stable development of radioactively contaminated settlements and territories, elaborate relevant guidelines of the Ukrainian Parliament".
The First Vice-Chairman stressed on the enormous quantity of problems that should be solved as soon as possible.
O. Lavrynovych reminded that as a result of the hearings no resolutions were adopted as the participant of the meeting have no necessary authorities, still he hopes that "the Bill that would be directed for the scrutinizing in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would reflect the mood and propositions discussed during the hearings".
