The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the Resolution "On Guidelines of the Parliamentary Hearings "Current Conditions and Prospects of Development of Agriculture and Food Industry of Ukraine"

According to the Guidelines, in 2008, 42 per cent of food industry enterprises suffered losses in the amount of 8,2 billion UAH. In 2009, the volume of direct governmental support of Ukrainian agricultural complex was halved. Social programs aimed at the development of rural area have actually been excluded from the State budget expenditures, which resulted in decline in the development of social and industrial infrastructure of the rural area, exacerbation of negative demographic trends in the countryside.  

 

Taking into account the importance of the agrarian economic sector of Ukraine for provision of food safety, participants of the parliamentary hearings recommend that The Verkhovna Rada facilitates scrutiny and adoption of Bills aims at the development of agricultural complex and minimization of influence of the financial recession on the said sector.  

 

A relevant Bill was registered under Reg. No. 4242.
