The Protocol was signed by Mykola Tomenko, Co-Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Valery Ivanov, Co-Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission, Vice-Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
Pursuant to the Protocol, the Inter-Parliamentary Commission determined improvement and coordination of legislative base of inter-regional and transfrontier cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus as one of the priority orientations of its activity.
The Commission also resolved to boost its activity within the scope of the working groups, which should enhance legal principles of cooperation between the countries, exploitation of the motions of the public authority bodies and representatives of business associations of Ukraine and Belarus to improve national legislation and international legal base of cooperation.
Pursuant to the Protocol, the next, the third, sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission will be held in the second half of 2009 in the Republic of Belarus.
