During a sitting of the Steering Committee of the EU-UNDP Parliamentary Reform Project, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov expressed his gratitude to partners from the UN Development Programme and the EU Delegation to Ukraine for their assistance and support in implementing reforms. “'Rapid and qualitative changes for the country' was the primary watchword or motto of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation, so it was utterly important to kick off those changes starting from ourselves. The Speaker noted that since the very beginning of the project there had been laid a strong and stable foundation for planning and monitoring Verkhovna Rada’s legislative work, developing its Secretariat, strengthening communications between the Parliament and its committees. “A very important part of our joint work - the functional and institutional analysis of the VRU Secretariat, was completed a little while back. And we do hope for the support of our partners in implementing the recommendations developed to improve its work in the future," the Speaker emphasized.

Dmytro Razumkov also thanked the partners for their assistance in resolving the problematic issues of parliamentary work, that had arisen due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also noted that among the major priorities of the Parliament there remains to be the digitalization of its work and communications with society - Ukrainian citizens and the international community, and then expressed his hope for the expert support of the Project and the Parliamentary Reform Office (PRO) in "polishing" e-parliamentarism and e-democracy tools.
