“We highly appreciate Lithuania's active support of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations,” -- Dmytro Razumkov
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov had a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Viktoras Pranckietis. He congratulated the Speaker of the Lithuanian parliament on the end of the nationwide quarantine.
"This is the best acknowledgement that you and our other Baltic partners have more than effectively overcome the challenges associated with the pandemic," said the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, emphasizing that Ukraine is prepared to continue productive cooperation with Lithuania and other partner countries.
Dmytro Razumkov underlined that the strategic and geopolitical vectors of Ukraine have not changed. "We highly appreciate Lithuania's position on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as your active support to European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of our state," he said.
He also thanked the Lithuanian speaker for the assistance in recognizing Ukraine as a member of the NATO Enhanced Opportunities Programme.
The Chairman of the Ukrainian parliament also expressed his highest esteem for the cooperation within the format of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland. “This is an important avenue of international cooperation for us. At the same time, in no way does this belittle the significance of our bilateral cooperation,” he stressed.
In addition, Dmytro Razumkov noted the high efficiency of the Baltic Plus group for the Ukrainian side.
"I do hope that this format will be expanding and increasing its capabilities in order to further uphold the principles enshrined in the PACE, and we will be able to defend the European values by our joint efforts,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated in conclusion.
