Mykola Tomenko: Early Elections to the Parliament are unnecessary, unless Deputy´s Immunity is abolished and Open Electoral Lists are provided

Mykola Tomenko deems unreasonable to hold early parliamentary elections, unless deputy´s immunity is abolished and open electoral lists are provided.

The Vice-Chairman stated that necessity of enhancing professionalism of The Verkhovna Rada was one of the priority issues. M.Tomenko stressed that the society was concerned with professionalism of the Parliament, electors´ influence on it and non-attraction of businessmen to its activity. "It is impossible, unless the electoral system is democratized and deputy´s immunity is abolished", - he stated.

M.Tomenko suggests that the Party of Regions as initiators of early elections to The Verkhovna Rada urgently amend the Constitution of Ukraine concerning abolition of deputy´s immunity, and adopt the Law concerning open electoral lists. "Then it will be possible to hold the elections", he stated.
