Mykola Tomenko: Direct Telecast from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will not be stopped even for One Minute
Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that the direct telecast from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would not be stopped even for one minute.
M. Tomenko appealed to the colleagues from the Party of Regions in order not to spread false information concerning the activity of the mass media.
The vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that in present situation it is purposeless to subsidize the private telecommunication companies by the Budget funds on order to relay programs with their participation.
M Tomenko stressed that direct telecasting has always been the main mean of the objective information about the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine transmitting.
Concerning the issue touched upon by the representatives of the Party of Regions regarding the stop in the broadcasting of the plenary meeting during the period when the tribune was blocked by the representatives of this party, M. Tomenko announced that "from the juridical point of view it is illegal". He suggested the introduction of the Bill "On Eliminating of the Blocking of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Work".
M. Tomenko has informed that on the 14th of April the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will scrutinize the Program on the Activity of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "Overcoming of the World Finance Crisis and Further Development". He also expects the Program suggested by the Party of Regions for scrutinizing.
