“Ukraine highly appreciates the continuous support of the European Parliament,” -- Dmytro Razumkov

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mr Dmytro Razumkov had today a telephone conversation with the President of the European Parliament Mr David Maria Sassoli and thanked him for the support from the EU and the European Parliament that Ukraine feels in the international arena.

"Of particular value to Ukraine is the European Parliament’s position over further maintaining political pressure and economic sanctions against Russia until Ukraine’s territorial integrity is fully restored," he said.

Dmytro Razumkov also stressed that he is in high hopes for regenerating the idea of holding "The Ukrainian Week" in the European Parliament, which was to take place in March 2020 in Brussels.

In addition, the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament stated that the human rights situation in the occupied Crimea is getting worse with every passing day.

Dmytro Razumkov also noted that the Eastern Partnership remains to be an important cooperation platform for Ukraine. "We are looking forward to the next summit and very much hope that the coronavirus pandemic will not thwart our plans," he highlighted.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his special gratitude for the assistance package provided by the European Commission with the aim to overcome the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for the allocation of a special macro-financial assistance.
