“We look forward to the further deepening cooperation between parliaments of Ukraine and Sweden,” -- Dmytro Razumkov

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov had a video conference with the Speaker of the Swedish Riksdag Mr Andreas Norlen.

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament thanked Sweden for its strong and long-time position of supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty in the international arena.

Also, the speaker then stated that the Verkhovna Rada group on inter-parliamentary relations with Sweden established in the Ukrainian parliament has proved to be an effective mechanism for upbuilding relations between the countries.

"Ukraine and Sweden are firmly united through a profound respect to democratic values.  Together, we will be able to achieve much more, so I hope for expanding cooperation between legislative bodies of our countries," he stressed.

Dmytro Razumkov also noted that Ukraine’s decentralization reform is near completion.

As a final point, the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament underlined that the world community should pool efforts to overcome the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
