Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that Ukraine should receive a clear-cut response to all its inquiries concerning further operation of the gas transport system from its partners.

"As far as the reconstruction of the gas transport system is concerned, The Verkhovna Rada should receive a clear-cut response: will we receive investments in the amount of 2,5 billion EUR or a compassionate allowance?" stated V.Lytvyn at the press conference held in Ovruch (Zhytomyr region) on Thursday.

As far as the reconstruction of the gas transport system is concerned, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to determine the way Ukraine shall pay for investments: "either by loans, or by a costless pumping of gas".

Summarizing, V.Lytvyn underscored that Ukraine should preserve regular relations both with Russia, and Europe.
