On 23 March, the 23rd Congress of the International Association of Lawyers launched its work in Kyiv under the slogan "Supremacy of Law guarantees Protection of Human Rights". The congress will conduct its work during four days.

"One of the issues to be discussed is the abuse of rights which facilitated the development of recessionary phenomena in economics. Thus, abuse of rights in Ukraine stipulates the reforming of Ukrainian Constitution", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opening the 23rd Congress of the International Association of Lawyers.

According to the First Vice-Chairman, "the said prestigious organization is one of the oldest among those uniting the national lawyers´ organizations in different countries".

"For the second time over the last five years the Congress is being held in Ukraine, and 4 days of its work presuppose discussion of different specific issues", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych. He declared: "The crucial issues appertain to the legal provision of global economics, global impact on climatic changes and independence of courts".

"The above-mentioned issues testify of the fact that the lawyers from all five continents understand their involvement in and responsibility for the search of legal tools for overcoming the recessionary phenomena in economics, minimization of losses of their citizens and countries", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych.
