Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expresses for the Further Development of the Ukrainian-Byelorussian Relations on the Basis of Equality, Mutual Understanding and Respect

Opening the Meting the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn has declared that there exist and necessity in cooperation between Ukraine and Byelorussia as "it is determined by the historical memory and traditions".

Evaluating the work of the commission he stressed that "we need and accumulative positive result". According to him, the issue of the vital importance are those "that let doubling of our achievements, help us to complement each other and provide help". "This is a basis according to which our equality will develop".

Volodymyr Lytvyn stressed that the intensification of the cooperation between two countries is of peculiar importance on the account of "the rapid process of the world polarization, intensification of the globalization".

Volodymyr Lytvyn has characterized the situation in Ukraine as "stable its complexity"
