"The parliamentary model is more suitable for Ukraine, as we actually face the following choice: either return to the presidential model, or advance to the parliamentary one", - stated the First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at "Pershyi Dilovyi" television channel.
According to O. Lavrynovych, "a mixed form, when the authorities of two centers of power (the president and the prime-minister) influence the activity of executive authorities, is baneful for Ukraine". The politician explained: "We must secure not only distribution of authority among the branches, but also its unity".
O. Lavrynovych answered the question concerning conditions necessary for stabilization of activity of the parliamentary coalition. Thus, he claimed the absence of coalition at the acting Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
O. Lavrynovych also commented on regulations to be adopted in order to secure setting up and functioning of a coalition, in case Ukraine becomes a parliamentary republic. O. Lavrynovych believes that a coalition is of great necessity.
