On Friday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Ake Peterson, Representative of the Secretary General for the Coordination of Cooperation Programs with Ukraine. Volodymyr Lytvyn expressed his content with the level of cooperation for the year since the office of the Representative was opened in Kyiv.
V.Lytvyn supported the willingness of A. Peterson to participate in the parliamentary hearings on the state of justice in Ukraine on Wednesday, 18 March.
The Parties discussed the methods of boosting cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe at the inter-parliamentary level. They dwelled upon the enhancement of national legislation that regulates the fields of justice and freedom of speech with the participation of the CoE experts.
