“The programme of parliamentary education will raise political awareness of citizens,” -- Viacheslav Shtuchnyi
On March 2, there was held a strategic sitting aiming to develop the Comprehensive Parliamentary Education Programme. The Chief of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat (Chief of staff) Viacheslav Shtuchnyi emphasized the importance of this programme as well as the use of modern technologies. According to the dignitary, the programme should meet the new demands of the times and help citizens find out more about the work of the parliament. The initiative was also supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The Comprehensive Parliamentary Education Programme of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine aims to raise awareness of the parliament’s work, of available tools for interaction between citizens and parliament as well as participation in the legislative process.
The programme is designed for schoolchildren, students and adults. In harness with the NGO “Global Office” and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the EU-UNDP Parliamentary Reform Project (PRP) is working upon the programme's development. This work is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
