Estonia and Ukraine… both of our countries have one vision upon the matters related to democracy development and realization of peace,” -- Dmytro Razumkov

During his official visit to Estonia, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov met with Riigikogu’s President Henn Polluaas.

Dmytro Razumkov emphasized that there are very good relations between Ukraine and Estonia, which should be further maintained and developed. According to him, this may be facilitated by even wider cooperation of parliamentary friendship groups, which already perform quite well.

Afterwards, the speaker of parliament congratulated the Republic of Estonia on the 102nd anniversary of its independence.

Chairman Dmytro Razumkov observed that the principled position of the Republic of Estonia at international platforms – including the Council of Europe, the United Nations - is very valuable for Ukraine.

In addition, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted that Ukraine highly appreciates Estonia’s economic support and thanked for the medical treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian servicemen who suffered during the ATO/JFO operation in the Donbas.

Dmytro Razumkov also noted that a number of important reforms are taking place in Ukraine today - the fight against corruption as well as the so called ‘unshadowing’ and liberalization of the economy.

“There are areas where Estonia has made meaningful progress versus Ukraine and even the rest of the world.  For instance, this is digitization and cyber-security, in which you have taken the lead.  In a hybrid war, your experience in these areas is especially important for our country,” the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada underscored.
