The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a Resolution "On On Actions regarding the Ordering of Separate Expenditures of the State Budget of Ukraine" reducing the rate of wages of high-ranking officials by two times, which demonstrated willingness of Ukrainian Parliament to take decisive measures concerning restoration of social equity. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, adheres to the said position.
I would like to emphasize that the initiative of the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was endorsed by all the leaders of Parliamentary Factions, i.e. by all the political forces represented in the legislative body. This is of great importance in view of the attitudes in society concerning inadmissibility of preservation of previous rates of wages under the conditions of economic crisis.
